Five on Friday: Newborn faves!

Now that we are settling in to our new home, I can start planning for what I need for baby #3! I thought this week, I'd share with you my top 5 newborn essentials.

__one__ The Rock 'n Play

Y'all. I don't think I would have made it through the newborn stage with Emmie if it wasn't for this thing. And, no shame here, she slept in this until she was about 3 months old. It was convenient, kept her elevated, and just helped her sleep. With a 19 month old at home and a newborn, this was an essential item. I sold mine, so this I'm definitely ordering this before the baby gets here.

__two__ Video Baby Monitor

Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor with Interchangeable Optical Lens
Not sure how I survived with Caroline without this treasure. Once the baby is sleeping in their own room, this becomes invaluable. I love being able to see if they are really awake, or just rolling around and settling back down, or if I just want to check to see if they are breathing. I'll be getting a new one this time too, as I am still using the one we bought for Emmie three years later in the girls' shared room. The one above has excellent reviews on Amazon and is reasonably priced!

__three__ Angelcare baby bath support

Angelcare Bath Support, Grey
This thing is amazing. I used it from newborn until the girls could sit in the tub on their own. It's so much better than those baby bathtubs, and it's also easy to clean.

__four__  Britax Travel System

Britax 2017 B Agile & B Safe 35 Travel System, Black

I can't imagine toting a newborn around without using a travel system. It makes it so easy to go anywhere! Britax is my favorite brand for car seats, and we have this exact travel system and love it.

__five__ Boon Grass and Accessories

Boon Grass and Stem and Twig, Green + Blue/Orange + Gray

Whether you are pumping, and cleaning all your pump parts, or bottle feeding, this is a MUST HAVE for drying everything.

16 weeks pregnant - Baby #3

Well, it's officially time to start documenting weekly updates. I told myself I wouldn't do this a third time, but then I realized I don't want this child to complain in 10-12 years that I did this for their sisters and not them.

So, here goes!

My 2 year old decided to photo bomb me. Since it's awkward enough to take a pregnant selfie, I let it ride.

Size of Baby: An avocado.....4 1/2 inches and 3 1/2 ounces!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Not sure, I go back to the doctor Friday, but I'm guessing between 3-5 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: This pregnancy I started having to wear maternity pants at 10 weeks! I'm still wearing all my non-maternity dresses, which has been awesome.

Gender: We are not finding out this time! It's totally selfish on my part, but when I was pregnant with Emmie, complete strangers felt the need to tell me, "Oh, I bet you wish that one was a boy." Um, no thanks, don't need your unsolicited and completely rude opinion.

Movement: Occasionally I feel a flutter, but nothing consistent.

Sleep: Doing better. I was waking up REALLY early these past few weeks, but now I've got terrible allergy symptoms, which I think are helping me stay passed out.

What I miss: Wine. Not sure how I thought I could get through a stressful work day and evenings with two kids 4 and under without it.

What I am looking forward to: Listening to the heartbeat at the appointment Friday.

Cravings: Firehouse subs, spicy food (load up the jalapenos!), and I also have to eat dessert. After every meal.

Symptoms: Round ligament pain, complete and utter exhaustion.

Best Moment This Week: Not quite baby related, but we got the news everything went as planned and our loan was approved for our new home. We are officially set to close next Wednesday. Which means I'll be able to plan little one's nursery!

Five on Friday: Hot Hot Hot

It's officially June and the weather is officially unbearable. We tried to spend lots of time outside Memorial Day weekend, but between the intermittent thunderstorms and the heat, it was almost impossible. We still did a lot last weekend and enjoyed time together.

__one__ We started off last weekend with me taking the girls out to dinner Friday night by myself. It was obviously not the first time I'd taken the girls out by myself, but it WAS the first time I had taken them to a fairly nice sit down restaurant by myself. I blame my insanity on pregnancy hormones and cravings. They did pretty good, but by the end of the meal I was eating a kids meal and they were enjoying my fried rice. Still, I'm going to call it a success.

__two__ Saturday morning, the girls had swimming and gymnastics, and we packed all afternoon long to get ready for our big move in three weeks! I still have so much to do, and I'm not sure it's going to get done in time. Maybe this time, we actually won't move again for a long, long time.Image result for worst part of moving meme

__three__ Sunday, Daniel had to work, so I had to think of ways to entertain the girls solo all day. We went to church, and then headed to the playground at the park right by our house for a little while. I'm so thankful this summer, the girls both are fairly comfortable on the equipment and I don't have to stand and spot them the whole time (until the next baby comes, at least!). I am also loving the Disney hats I got the girls last year (you can find them HERE). Poor Caroline can't wear sunglasses anymore with her regular glasses, and the hats really help keep the sun out of her eyes. And of course, her sister can't stand for her to have anything she doesn't have, so she got one too :)

__four__ After a long nap Sunday, I took the girls to see Show Dogs (worst movie ever), and then we headed home to snuggle on the couch. Emmie can't resist wearing sunglasses these days, and she insisted I take pictures of her with them on.

_five_ Finally, on Monday, we enjoyed some much needed family time all together, and started out our day at Dunkin Donuts before spending a nice, peaceful, rainy day at home. Hope you all have a fantatsic weekend!
